SECTION A – THEORY QUESTIONS
1(a). State the uses of a Text Box.
A Text Box is used to:
- Add text anywhere on a worksheet.
- Insert titles, comments, labels and instructions.
- Add explanatory notes to charts and diagrams.
1(b). Outline the steps of showing a formula in Microsoft Excel.
- Open the worksheet.
- Click the Formulas tab.
- Select Show Formulas.
Shortcut: Press Ctrl + `
2(a). State the two page orientations and explain them.
Portrait: The page is taller than it is wide.
Landscape: The page is wider than it is tall.
2(b). Which page orientation is the default in Excel?

3(a). What is a Chart?
A chart is a graphical representation of worksheet data used to make comparisons and analysis easier.
3(b). Explain the axes of a 3D Chart.

4(a). What is Split Window?
Split Window divides a worksheet into multiple panes so different parts of the worksheet can be viewed simultaneously.
4(b). State the steps in applying Split Window.
- Select the desired cell.
- Click View.

5(a). Explain Freeze Panes.
Freeze Panes keeps selected rows or columns visible while scrolling.
5(b). Freeze only the first three columns.

6(a). Explain What-If Analysis.
What-If Analysis allows users to test different values to see how they affect formula results.

Backward Calculation (or What-If Analysis Tool)
9(a). Explain Copy and Paste.
Copy duplicates selected data while Paste places it in another location.
9(b). Explain Cell Referencing.
Cell referencing allows formulas to automatically use and update values from other cells.
Example: =A2+B2
10. Explain AutoSum with an example.
AutoSum automatically inserts the SUM function.
Example: =SUM(A1:A5)
If A1:A5 contains: 100, 200, 300, 400, 500
Result: 1500

Practical Tasks
- Reproduce the worksheet exactly as shown.
- Format all values to 2 decimal places.
- Calculate the missing values using formulas.
- Bold all calculated values.
- Create a Column Chart on a new worksheet.
- Use the title: MONTHLY SALES FOR 6 MONTHS
- Label the Horizontal Axis as Months.
- Label the Vertical Axis as Sales (GH₵).
- Round the TOTAL row to 0 decimal places.
- Print the worksheet.
- Display the formulas (Ctrl + `) and print again.
