ICT Level 1 Unlocking Foundations for ICT Success (Face to Face)

Embark on your ICT journey with a minimum of a JHS Certificate Examination, securing an aggregate of 30 or less. Ideal for personal computer users in the industry and institutions seeking certification for their ICT knowledge and skills, and aspiring to carve a successful career path in ICT.

ICT Level 1 introduces a broad spectrum of knowledge essential for individuals to execute routine data processing and basic functions with minimal supervision. While independence is encouraged, collaborative group or team work with colleagues is often required to enrich the learning experience.

Structure of Examination:

The examination is a comprehensive three-hour single paper, skillfully divided into two sections:

Section A - Fundamentals of Computing (Basic Computer Literacy)

Duration: 1 hour

40 marks

20 multiple-choice questions and 10 short-answer structured questions covering fundamental computer literacy.

Section B - Introduction to Application Skills (Word Processing, Spreadsheet Management, Database Management):

Duration: 2 hours

60 marks

5 questions, including a compulsory question on word processing, and two questions each on spreadsheet and database management. Candidates are to answer three questions.

Registration Requirement:

Entry to the Level I certificate examination typically demands a minimum JSS certificate with an aggregate of 30 or less. Personal computer users in the industry and institutions, seeking certification for their ICT skills and envisioning a career in ICT, are encouraged to register for the ICT Level 1 certificate examinations.

Award of Certificate:

To qualify for the prestigious certificate, candidates must meet the standard set by the National Clerical Training Council. Those who fall short in the examination are referred to undergo additional training to secure a pass and achieve certification, marking a significant milestone in their ICT journey.

Spreadsheet Management

The Spreadsheet Management Lessons offers comprehensive training in electronic spreadsheet usage, covering essential skills and advanced functions. Students will gain proficiency in navigating spreadsheets, entering and manipulating data, utilizing formulas and functions, creating macros, formatting worksheets, working with charts and graphics, and protecting worksheet integrity.

The Database Management Lessons offers a thorough exploration of database fundamentals and practical skills in database development and management. Students will learn how to create, query, and manipulate databases using Microsoft Access for Windows, along with essential techniques for data entry, field properties, validation checks, sorting, forms, queries, and report generation.
