This blog post presents the full examination question and suggested guidance for the November/December 2013 Level 2 Word Processing exam. As part of Armstrong Computers College's educational mission, this is designed to support learners preparing for their ICT and vocational exams by using real-world examples and techniques in Microsoft Word.

SECTION A – Theory Questions & Answers
1. Explain the term drop caps
Drop caps are large capital letters at the beginning of a paragraph that span several lines in height, used for stylistic effect in documents.
2. Explain the term formatting with examples
Formatting refers to changing the appearance of text, such as bold, italics, font size, or alignment. For example, making text bold to highlight headings.
3. Explain the term overtype mode
Overtype mode allows you to type over and replace existing text, rather than inserting new characters between existing ones.
4. Explain term header and footer
Headers appear at the top and footers at the bottom of each page. They can include page numbers, document titles, or author names.
5. Explain Undo and Redo and state their shortcut keys
Undo reverses the last action (Ctrl+Z), and Redo restores a previously undone action (Ctrl+Y).
6. Explain the uses of the grammar and spelling checkers
These tools highlight errors and suggest corrections to spelling and grammar, improving document accuracy and readability.
7. Name and explain five keyboard shortcut keys in MS Word
- Ctrl + C – Copy
- Ctrl + V – Paste
- Ctrl + B – Bold
- Ctrl + I – Italics
- Ctrl + U – Underline
8. Name and explain the two typing modes
Insert Mode (default) adds text without removing existing text. Overtype Mode replaces existing text as you type.
9. Differences and similarities of Save and Save As. Their shortcuts?
Save (Ctrl + S) updates the current document. Save As (F12) creates a new copy or version. Both store files but Save As allows renaming and changing location.

- Above the table, insert 3 centered lines as a title:

- Right-align Sales and Percentage columns.
- Left-align the CITY column.
- Apply bold formatting and enhance the table layout with color or shading.
