Line spacing is the space between lines within a paragraph, while paragraph spacing is the space before or after a paragraph. Adjust these using the Paragraph dialog box in MS Word.

b. List TWO (2) examples of themes.
Themes are pre-defined formatting styles that include colors, fonts, and effects. Examples include "Office" and "Facet".
3. What is change case?
Change case allows you to convert selected text into uppercase, lowercase, sentence case, etc.
4. What is Text Highlight Colour?
It is a tool used to highlight text with a background color for emphasis.
5. What is used to create bullet list in MS Word?
The Bullets tool under the Home tab is used to create bullet lists.

A watermark is a faint text or image in the background of a page. Types include text watermark and picture watermark.

Orientation refers to page layout. Types: Portrait and Landscape.

Fonts control text appearance. Examples: Times New Roman, Arial.

b. State the shortcut key for Find and Replace.
It helps locate specific text and replace it. Shortcut: Ctrl + H.

SECTION B: PRACTICAL (50 MARKS)

The Huntsman
There was once a huntsman who lived in the woods with his family. He had a beautiful wife with two children. The eldest was a girl called Gretel and the boy, Hansel was the youngest. They lived a happy and content life.

However, as those stories go, misfortune fell on this little family when the mother suddenly took ill and died. The family was saddened and they lost all sense of joy. It seemed like a good idea to the family.

Their stepmother was not keen on looking after another woman's kids, hence she gave an ultimatum to the huntsman to get rid of his children. The huntsman, being love-stricken, agreed to this unfair request. He took his children deep into the forbidden forest and left them, however, unknown to the huntsman Gretel was leaving a trail of breadcrumbs. After a while of waiting, she led her brother home.

  1. Type the document as it is
  2. Set font style and size to 12 pt, Lucida Bright
  3. Change the formatting of the title "The Huntsman": Bold, Center, Underline, Uppercase
  4. Set line and paragraph spacing to 2.0
  5. Combine paragraph 5 into paragraph 4
  6. Change paragraph 2 font color to red
  7. Increase indentation of all paragraphs
  8. Underline all of paragraph 1
  9. Add name and index number to the bottom-left footer
  10. Save the file as directed and print
